RE: Rezoning aplication R #2--81. Dear Sir/Madam: We made application a year ago to have the property consoli-: dated and rezoned in accordance with its current use as part of a car and truck dealership. We have been notified that epproval of this rezoning is contingent on our undertaking a costly major storm sewer/road widening/curbing/street lighting program on Hast- ings Street. - ; Economic conditions in our industry have been unfavorable this past year and unproductive capital expenses are most unwelcoine. We do wish to proceed with the rezoning, but would like to request the City to share in a fair apportionment of the construction costs of the road rebuilding program. The rezoning is not part of a new development, but is simply rezoning to the property's correct use. More than half of the road reconstruction required by the City Engineer is not in front of the affected property at all, but that of the Department of Highways. It is for this reason that we request the City to pay a portion of the road widening/curbing costs.
