THE CORPORATION GF THE CHY GF PONT CODUITLAM ITEM ITT - Continued The Committee suggests the following solution as a long sange plan for Elgin. Please refer to the sketch attachei to this report. Elgin Street should be made a one-way street westbound from Shaughnessy allowing only mevements which do not requive signalization of the intersection and do not have a visibility problem. Elgin east of Shaughnessy should be mz-le to have right turn only access so that traffic does not stop to make a left turn coming out of the tunnel and go that visibility of traffic ceming through the tunnel is not a Preilem. If evch a solution is used, then it is probably not necessary to widen Elgin west. of Shaughnessy with the excention of improving tha turn radius for right turns from Shaughnessy. ; It should be pointed out that this Proposed selution is effective only if another road is constructed on the west end of Elgin to connect Elgin with McAllister, Whyte, Marple and Wilson. The Committee feals that this road can be constructed through a developirent cost charge by-law. The Committee did not address itself to the question of whether or not the bank building should be removed at this time. ITEM IV petal Re: Water Request from Pistrict for 1160 Devon The Public Werks Committee received a letter from the Mayor and the District of Cequitlam reauesting our nermission to allow the District to serve a proposed home at LLGO Devon Road from the 2-inch water connection which we provide the District. This address is across the road from Mr. Ccughian who received permission from this Ccuncil last month. The Public Works Committee has no chiections to the ‘provision of water to this address providing that the size of the service te the District is not increased. We recommeid that the District be allowed to provide water to Mr, Atherley.
