(CP) — Striking municipal
workers at this central coast
community have voted to
‘reject a one-year contract
offer the city made two
weeks ago. .
The contract would have
given the 185 workers,
members of the Canadian
Union of Public Employees,
a 90-cent-an-hour. increase,
with an additional 15 cents
an hour going to outside
workers in July, :

The union executive had
rejected the offer in late
April without putting it to the

Union officials said
Monday ‘that the weekend
vote was 88 per cent in favor
of rejection,

The workera are seeking a
$1-an-hour increase, with an
additional 30 cents an hour
for outside workers later in

Their last contract expired
