Centre, open Monday
through Friday from 9:30
a.m. to 4 p.m., operates
like a day care centre but
it is not one.

Itis mainly for mothers
who need to see the
doctor, have to do some
shopping or just want to
take a break in the af-
fernoon away from the
children,

“Parents use the centre
for various reasons,”
Says Patti Wright,
supervisor.

“We have story-time,
singing, art, outdoor
play...we do just about
everything. We don't
have Junch or nap time,”
she says.

The centre Is licensed
for 15 children and except
for the: supervisor it
operates on volunteer
help from the mothers.

The question of
whether or not the centre
will survive another year
will remain unanswered
during the next few
months, It does not
receive any funding and
Wright says she does not
know how long such
conditions can continue,
