That Council approve the expenditure of $2,000 for the placernent of rip-rap protection
along the north and south slope of the Coast Meridian Barge Ramp.

That $1,162.72 be allocated from the Future Capital Reserve for this purpose.

The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Engineering
Technician dated February 26, 1992 regarding a letter dated February 11, 1992 recommending
that rip-rap rock protection be installed along a portion of the north and south face of the Coast
Meridian Barge Ramp at an estimated cost of $2,000. | —

During the winter there has been erosion along portions of the north and south face of the Barge
Ramp due to rains and tidal variation of the river levels. |

There is $837.28 available from a Fraser River Harbour Commission Grant which could apply
towards the $2,000 required for the slope protection at the Barge Ramp. |

In order to prevent further erosion in this area, it is recommended that the slope pretection be
installed at this time. |
