The Board of School Trustees requests an opportunity for a
representative to address City Council at your meeting of December

10th.

The Board hopes to explain the implications that government restraint
fis having on the school district.

We have included, for Council's review, materials and correspondence
with the Ministry of Education detailing the Board's position
regarding the inequity of treatment under the fiscal framework.

‘It is hoped that following an explanation of: the actions to date, City

Council might commit its support to School District No. 43's request
for an increase in funding levels by the Ministry of Education.
