Peters, P.Eng., City Engineer Broadway Tender RECOMMENDATION: That the contract for the construction of Broadway Street be awarded to Jack Cewe Ltd. at the unit prices bid in the tender, and that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute the contract agreement. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: This Supplementary report is added to Tony Chong's report for clarification of several details which may be of interest to Council. It is obvious from the breakdown of unit prices that the real problem of the City bidding on this type of contract is that we are competing with the People who are supplying us with the material and some of the equipment. The unit price bid by CEWE for backfill material in place is lower that the actual cost to us just to Purchase the material.
