Following third reading of By-law 1368 Alderman Traboulay commented that the Road Exchange By-law would facilitate an experimental subdivision of smaller lots and homes which could be sold for more reasonable prices and he thought that this was a forward step for the Developer and the City to take. NEW BUSINESS: Ald.Mabbett re Alderman Mabbett referred to the Winter Wind-up Carnival held on Winter Wind-up Carnival the past weekend and stated that it was a very excellent event and commended the City Staff for their participation therein. He mentioned that a problem had arisen concerning pilfering in the change rooms at the Arenas and he suggested that the City Engineer and Fire Chief investigate and bring forward a proper locking system for the change rooms. Ald.Traboulay re libel & slander insurance, etc. Alderman Trabuulay referred to the investigation presently being conducted by the Greater Vancouver Regional District concerning insurance for Board Members against libel and slander and he asked the City Administrator to check on this item to see if such insurance would be practical for Council Members. s Aid.Ranger re elections to Coq. Hosp. Board of the Coquitlam and District Hospital Society and he reported that Mr. Alderman Ranger advised that he had attended last Thursday's meeting A.I. Smith had been re-elected to the Board and that Mr. Dave Insley was elected as a new member.
