Mayor Campbell From the City Clerk, February 27th, 1975, setting forth a secticn re curfew (deferred) of the Municipal Act relating to a curfew that may be imposed by the Municipal Council and advising that Mayor Campbell has asked that this subject be considered by the Council. Mayor Campbell, in speaking to the memorandum above-noted, requested that members of Council endeavour to obtain as much information as possible on the subject in order that it can be considered next week. Alderman Thompson suggested that some expertise on the subject should be present when it is next considered - in particular, the people who would enforce it and Mayor Campbell advised he would try to have Inspector Young, i/ce of the Coquitlam R.C.M.P. Detachment in attendance. Alderman Keryluk suggested that the City Clerk should be directed to obtain, for the benefit of Council, information from other municipalities with respect to the pros and cons of establishing a curfew. Mayor Campbell suggested that the subject be deferred until the first o£ April, and to this members of Council agreed. Alderman Ranger suggested that a Public Meeting be held on the subject of establishing a curfew in order to give the public a chance to voice their opinion as to whether or net they are in favour of it and that appropriate advertisements be placed in the local newspapers with respect thereto. Alderman Traboulay stated he felt that notwithstanding newspaper advertisements, local Ratepayers groups should also be advised of the meeting. BY-LAWS: Prior to consideration of the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117, Amendment By-law, 1975, No. 1364, the City Clerk advised that Section 2 thereof should be corrected by inserting the words and figure "Section 10 of" between the words “of" and "Schedule" where they appear in the first line, and to this the Council agreed.
