5 STAR CQMMITTFE A meeting of the Five Star Committee was held in the Parks & Recreation Office on September 1, 1994 at 8:30 am. In attendance were Councillor R. Talbot and Councillor M. Gordon. Also in attendance was Ianna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director. a) Mission Statement The Committee discussed the mission statement and agreed that it needs to go to City Council for approval as quickly as possible. Councillor Gordon noted that when she was previously on the Comm''ttee it was intended that the Committee be composed of citizens who represented the various areas; housing, transportation, education, en:ployment and recreation as well as a representative from the disabled conllllunlry. It was agreed to investigate how other communities had structured their five star committee. The Parks and Recreation Director will foBow this up. Recommendation: b) To bring this item back to the next committee meeting with a recommendation to take to City Council for their approval.
