THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 [J h , é i \ BY-LAW NO. 1658 APR § 1979 A by-law to provide for payment of an indemnity to the Mayor and Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam for the year 1979. WHEREAS under and by virtue of Section 200 of the "Municipal Act", being Chapter 255 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1960, and Amendments thereto, the Council may by by-law provide for paying out of the annual revenue an indemnity to the Mayor and Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, and may provide that a portion of the said indemnity to be paid to the Mayor and Aldermen shall be paid as an allowance for expenses incidental to the discharge of the duties of their respective offices; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: 1. There shall be paid to the Mayor of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam in the year 1979 an indemnity of Seventeen Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Five ($17,325.00) Dollars per annum of which said indemnity the sum of Five Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Five ($5,775.00) Dollars shall be paid as an allowance for expenses incidental to the discharge of the duties of his office. 2. There shall be paid to each of the Aldermen of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam in the year 1979 an indemnity of Six Thousand ($6,000.40) Dollars per annum of which said indemnity the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars shall be paid as an allowance for expenses imcidental to the discharge -£ the duties of his office. 3. The indemity provided for in Sections One (1) and Two (2) hereof shall be paid monthly by the City Treasurer to the’ person or persons entitled to receive same without order or resolution of the Council save and except as hereinafter provided. 4. Shoud any member of Council be absent from four (4) consecutive regular Council meetings or more, the indemnity that would be due were he not s0 absent shall not be paid to him except by unanimous vote of the remainder of the members of Council. 5.
