March 10th, 1975 Alderman Thompson stated that there are not enough lots at the moment being developed, and he pointed out that the policy was to restrict the number of building permits issued but in actual fact the restriction is on the number of lots being created. From the Planning & Zoning Committee, March 5th, 1975, concerning Plan.& Zon. Comm.-Appin. Rezoning Applications R#21/74 - West of Cedar Drive; and R#24/74 - R#24/74 Prairie/Regina. Alderman Thompson advised that Rezoning Application R#21/74 had been withdrawn and therefore consideration of only Application R#24/74 is needed at this time. It was noted in the report that Application R#24/74 was one of several appsications for rezoning RS-2 (Cne-Family Suburban Residential) lands to RS-1 (One-Family Residential) received after the adoption by Council of the policy to permit no further rezoning of RS-2 lands; consequently the application had not been dealt with until the Committee was reviewing the overall policy. The Committee, in its report, recommernied that the Application be approved for the following reasons: The land in question is adjoining RS-1 areas; Servicing is not difficult; A shortage of building lots is being experienced in the East Sector; Rezoning is considered to be highly desirable as subdivision of the land will facilitate the opening of Regina to Prairie which will improve access and services to the new Recreation Centre. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended in a report from the Planning & Zoning Committee, March Sth, 1975, Application R#24/74 to rezone property legally described as Rem. A, Blocks 21 & 23, East half, North-west Quarter Section 6, Township 40, Sketch 10290; Rem.
