Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Mabbett mentioned he had voted against a previous motion on the proposal as tenders were not called from other firms and for that reason, advised he would vote against the motion now under consideration. NEW BUSINESS: From the Planning Officer, August 23rd, 1974, advising that at the August Plan.0ffice re min.floo ©, 1974 Council meeting, a proposed Zoning By-law amendment concerning mini- area-M Zone mum building size in Industrial (M) Zones, was referred to the Planning & Zoning and Industrial Development Committees and that following consideration at a joint meeting of the two Committees held on August 14th, 1974, it was recommended that 1500 square feet as previously proposed by the Planning & Zoning Committee be ad- opted as the minimum gross floor area of a principal building in all M Zones. Alderman Laking, who had attended the joint meeting on behalf of the Indus- trial Committee, stated he did not agree with the recommendation and that it was a split decision. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the City's Zoning By-law be amended to include a requirement that the minimum gross floor area of a principal building in all M Zones be set at 1,000 square feet. Withdrawn. A discussion ensued following the proposal of the above-stated resolution, and Alderman Traboulay suggested that the matter be tabled and referred to the next meeting when the full Council would be present, and that a further report be sub- mitted from the Planning & Zoning Committee as to the reason for recommending 1500 square feet.
