CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM PARKS & A meeting of the Parks & RECREATION COMMITTEE Recreation Committee was held the Council Chambers on Wednesday, August 7th, 1985, at 2.00in p.m. In attendance was Alderman Michael Wright. Also in attendance was K. Janna Taylor, Parks Recreation & Di rector. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES That the minutes of the meeting of the Parks & Recreation Committee held on Wednesday, July 17th, 1985, be taken as read and adopted. Item No. 1 Wilson Centre Exoansion Jack Blowers will be invited to attend a committee meeting to discuss the addendum report. The committee discussed the report on a very preliminary basis, and indicated that the Phase I expansion should be included in the City's upcoming ten year plan. Re comme n dat ion That the Wilson Centre addendum report be received and that Jack Blowers be invited to a committee meeting. CARRIED Item No. 2 Lions Park have received a request from the organizers the Labour Day tournament, to allow out of town of recreation vehicles to stay at Lions Park during the weekend. In the past we have authorized these vehicles in the park, under the condition that they utilize the proper sanitary disposal stations, and keep the park clean. The R.C.M.P. will be informed. We Recommendation: That the recreation vehicles connected with the Fastball Tournament be permitted in Lion Park during the Labour Day weekend. CARRIED /2. Much discussion was spent around various options for the parade route, dates, crowning, and the co-ordinators position. Recommendation: 1. That the 1986 May Day be held May 8th 2. The parade route be on the northside. 3. That the crowning be held in the arena. 4. That the 1986 May Day be run under similar arrangements as the one tllis year. — 11th.
