Pynenburg Project Technician SUBJECT: WESTERN HEIGHTS ANIMAL CLEAN-UP RECOMMENDATION: That the Environmental Protection Committee consider the allocation of funds for the installation of 2 signs reflecting that owner’s clean up after their pets on public and private property. (Bylaw No.1020 Section 4A) at a cost of $200. Atachedis a memo to the Environmental Protection Committee from Bryan Kirk regarding a telephone call about animal clean up in Westview Heights. Councillor Thompson received a phone call from a resident at 1288 Fletcher Way requesting that something be done regarding owner’s who do not pick up after their pets. ‘The caller, Natalie Mcleal, has stated that there are many dogs in the area and pet owners neglect to clean up their pet's feces. Skyline Park does not have signs indicating that owners must clean up after their pets. These signs are standard in other parks throughout the city. The addition of 2 signs (as mdicated on attached mep) in or adjacent to park areas will inform pet owners of their responsibility and improve the present situation.
