Seconded by Alderman Gates: That By-law No. 1783 be read a third NEW BUSINESS: Council In connection with the recent Election, all members of Council Congrat, re Election expressed their congratulation to those who were successful in their endeavors and expressed appreciation to all those who have offered themselves as candidates, Ald. Mabbett Alderman Mabbett inquired concerning recent press reports re Marathon Realty Ltd and C.P.R. that Marathon Realty Limited had been refused permission to relocate some of their operations from Vancouver to Coquitlam and suggested that Council should strenuously oppose any relocation of this truck terminal on the C.P.R. property at the intersection of Shaughnessy Street and the Lougheed Highway. Mayor Laking advised that he would be meeting with offielals of Marathon and the C.P.R. to discuss this matter. Ald. Mabbett Alderman Mabbett advised that the question of parking arrangements re Parking on Lancaster Street res. only. on Lancaster Street Ls presently under consideration by the Public Works Committee but he wanted to draw to council's attention that the residents on that strect want "Residents Only" parking.
