resolution thereon had not been submitted to this meeting for a formal
motion.
to review the constitution before taking any formal action on it; however,
Alderman Traboulay stated he felt the resolution was worded in such a

way that it was not binding on the Council in any event. Acting-Mayor

Alderman Mabbett stated his understanding that the resolution was just

to give Mr. Leslie an indication from Council as to its general thinking

on the subject for the present time, until the draft constitution has been

prepared, and although it appeared the majority were in favour of the
proposal, he felt the full Council should be in attendance when it is
considered, as it is a very important item.

Alderman Laking advised that a Public Information Meeting was
scheduled to be held at James Park Elementary School on May 26th, 1976
at 7:30 p.m. concerning two proposed residential developments in the
area South of Westminster Avenue - one being the creation of a standard
32-lot subdivision ~ and the other a 52-unit townhouse project plus 10
standard-sized lots.

Acting—-Mayor Alderman Mabbett referred to a letter from the Minister
of Health and drew attention to the fact that as the joint City-District
of Coquitlam Mosquito Control Programme was not a priority, no funds
would be provided therefore from the Provincial Government.

Acting-Mayor Alderman Mabbett then gave Notice of a Motion he
intended to present at the May 31st, 1976 Council meeting concerning the
place of residence of senior staff, particulariy new staff, as they are

hired.
