UTER OFFICE "E40 + 0 ! pM v; li oO: TO; ‘layor & Aldermen DATE: December 3rd, 1973." UE Frou; R-A. Freeman, City Clerk Cee. ee q Re: November 26th, 1973 Council leeting Minutes. Alderman Ranger has requested that certain comments he made prior to passage ofa resolution made with respect to acceptance of a tender submitted | by Radcliffe and Sons Construction for construction of an ice-skating arena and senior citizens! facility in this City, be included in the November 26th, 1973 Council meeting minutes, and these were recorded as follows: "Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger stated he thought it should be made clear to the public that the Recreation Facilities By-law passed last year included an inflationary buffer and that the figure of some 1.9 million dollars reflects the way inflation has increased over the past year. Alderman Ranger commented that while the Council is taking a chance in approving the tender, if no action is taken, - there is a possibility that the ice-rink and senior citizens' facility may not be constructed due to inflationary costs and the shortage of steel." If the Council is willing to have the above-noted comments included in the November 26th, 1973 Council Meeting minutes, this could be accomplished by incorporating the same in the resolution made to adopt the said minutes at the December 3rd, 1973 regular Council meeting.
