-2- With this in mind, the Parks & Recreation Committee realized that before any further work was done on the PoCo Trail it was more important to do a conceptual plan for the development and expansion of the trail. Rather than using the $26,300 set aside for PoCo Trail enhancements, in the 1993 Capital Budget, the Committee is of the strong opinion that it is more appropriate to use the funds to hire a consultant to do a conceptual plan for the PoCo Trail and related amenities. The Committee drew up terms of reference for the proposed study which City Council approved. A proposal call for consuitants was done in September and four Consultants submitted their proposal. The Consultants were: 1. Catherine Berris & Associates Inc. 2. Christopher Phillips & Associates Ltd. 3. Sharp & Diamond Landscape Architecture 4. Guzzi Perry & Associates Landscape Architecture On Thursday, October 28, 1993 members of City Council and City Staff interviewed the four firms. The Consultant chosen was Guzzi, Perry & Associates Inc. The Consultant will have three months to complete the conceptual plan for the trail system. Attached are the terms of reference for the study.
