VOLUNTEERS and businesses
all over town across the com-

charity dance April 9th for Mark
Lapointe.

The 32-year-old Lapointe has
been struggling with cancer since
just before Christmas, when a
doctor told him the illness he
thought was the flu isn’t,

A week after being diagnosed,
Lapointe’s. brother Warren, in
Kitimat, was also diapnosed with
cancer,

Volunteer Denise McCann says
Mark LaPointe has been given a
25 per cent chance of survival
and is undergoing redical cancer
treatment in Vancouver.

Friends and family are trying to
help support Mark, his wife
Michelle and their 10-year-old
daughter.

The family can’t afford the high
costs of treatment and travel to
Vancouver, McCann said.

So far the response has been
amazing,

“People have been incredible,”
says McCann. ‘Terrace is just
wonderful.’’

The K-40 Kinsmen Club and
the Hariey Owners Group are
among the organizations helping
out

McCann said organizers have
numerous designated drivers
recruited to take people home
after the dance. ,
