A complete surprise was sprung on
| Prince Rupert on Sunday afternoon
= when the All Star Team of the Interior
@ <efented the All Star Team of Prince
” Rupert by a score of 3 to 0.

The weather was good and the dia-

mond had bets. put in’ really fine
xbape for this ‘series of two games.
There was a big crowd there and that
wrowd got the worth of their money.

For quite a time there has been a
few who considered the boys in the
interior did net play good enough ‘ball
nuuL that it was always good to use
as many outside ‘players as possible in
order to teach the local youngsters.
On Sunday the interlor players bit
wore halls, made fewer errors and on
the -field were just as snappy as the
visitots. It is said that the visitors
did not bring the best of their players.
That was too bid for them, and it is
sife to say the next time the teams
meet the visitors will have. all their
hest players.

Kershaw, the new pitcher for the
Snappy Nines, and high school teacher
in Sinithers, was in the box for the

interlor team, and from the start he

' Ile pitched a wonderful game. and he

first base. He had numerous put-outs
to his own eredit and he caught every-
thing that came within reach. He got
a three base hit, the biggest of the day
in the second inning and went home
on a bad throw to third, At that he
nade a couple of ‘errors, but they dic:

played his position well. , Muirhead
was in the game all-day and grabbed

As a team they played good ball and
the score would indicate that they had

For Prince Rupert Bill Lambe was
in the box and he had his ovn catcher
Nelson. Lambe struek out a lot of the
batters and. it seemed harder for the
boys to get next to him than it was to
hit Chenoske on Sunday. Nelson was
strong behind the bat and this battery
got fine support from sexond base, the
short stop and third baseman. Cheno-
aske at third made a wonderful one
hand catch. Bert Spooner drove a hot
liner between short and third that was
‘absvlutely safe for two or three bags,
but Chenoske was too tall and too iong
fn the reach. He grabbed it and fired
it ‘to. first like a streak to get it out uf
his . mit. and stop a fire. The Prince

The aged frame of Charlie Haecker
