Award of Tender Traffic Light and Intersection Upgrading
McANuister/Shaughnessy Intersection and
Wilson/Shaughnessy Intersection

(Public Works Committee Meeting of June 2nd, 1992)

That Council award the contract for the installation of traffic lights at
McAllister/Shaughnessy and Wilson/Shaughnessy to Trans Western Electric based on a
tendered cost of $200,891.43 (including G.S.T.).

And That Council allocate $200,891.43 from the Roads Development Cost Charge Fund
for this purpose.

The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the
Project/Traffic Technician dated June Ist, 1992 regarding a letter from Delcan
Corporation dated May 29th, 1992 which recommends that the tender for the construction
of the McAllister/Shaughnessy and Wilson/Shaughnessy intersections be awarded to
Trans Western Electric Ltd. at the bid price of $200,891.43.

This project involves the reconstruction ~~ the intersection and the installation of new
traffic lights at Wilson and Shaughnes: lus the upgrading of the traffic lights at
McAlister and Shaughnessy.

Four bids were received for this work and the lowest bid is from Trans Western Eleciric
Lid. at a cost of $200,891.43 (including G.S.T.). Trans Westem Electric Ltd. has worked
for the City in the past and has provided satisfactory work.

It is therefore recommended that this contracted be awarded to Trang Western Electric
Lid. at the tendered price of $200,891.43 (including G.S.T.).
