With brushwork that dances on the edge
of abstraction, Leanne Christie’s work is
a revelation, revealing an intuitive and
insightful understanding of the painting
language. Educated at the influential
Rhodes University art school, Leanne was
not only tutored in “the painting” as a final
product, but instilled with the love of the
process itself. Since becoming a full time
artist in 2008, her developing maturity with
the medium has led her to experiment with
the hierarchy of brushstroke, composition
and colour — her work easily identifiable by
her sensitive myriad of greys.

Les tableaux de Leanne Christie révelent
une compréhension intuitive et pénétrante
de la peinture qui s’exprime ouvertement
par labstrait et l’huile. A l’école d'art
prestigieuse Rhodes University (Afrique du
Sud), elle a découvert la toile signée en tant
que produit fini et a développé un véritable
amour pour son exécution. Artiste a temps
plein depuis 2008, elle a acquis une
maturité artistique qui l’invite a jouer avec le
trait de pinceau, la composition et la couleur
: ses peintures distinctives se basent sur une
palette de gris.
