Carried. LATE ITEMS: From the City Engineer, June 26th, 1992 regarding Notification of Sprinkling and Cutdoor Water Usage Regulations. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Talbot: That due to declining water reservoir reserves the following sprinkling and outdoor water usage regulations will be in effect as of Wednesday, July Ist, 1992: 1. Complete ban on all lawn and garden sprinkling using in-ground or hose connected automatic sprinklers. Watering of public playing fields permitted only to the minimum extent necessary to prevent the costly loss of turf. Watering of gardens and plants is not permitted except by hand using containers or a hose equipped with a spring loaded shut-off device. Hosing of driveways and sidewalks is prohibited. Washing of vehicles is discouraged. The cooperation of all residents is essential in order to prevent more severe water restrictuions being imposed during these summer months. Under Bylaw 991 failure to comply with these regulations may result in a fine of up to $2,000. Carried.
