Every year the Kinsmen have atcemot ta add & commemorative addition ta the run. This year tie organizing committee has suggested the addition of a large painted g.wapnic on the road at the start/finisn line area ta be the commemorative addicton for this yéar’s Tun, Every year media from the major media come to tie Hometawn Run Co see the start of 8.C.'s largest run. The Kinsmen feel the graphic (design included in this letter) will display the pride of the city of Port Coquitlam towards Terry's memorial run and at the same time commemorata this city's 75th Anniversary. Since the installation of the Fox run flagpale and commemorative stane have been free of vandalism, the Kinsmen feel the graphic will be free of upkeep or repair. The Kinsmen alsa fael the graphic will net be a hazard to traffic to the sparse traffic that uses the end section of Laurire Ave. Since the City would be responsible for the installation of the graphic to the road, the Kinsmen responsibilities in this pro ject will be as Follows: na ed a) To offer the design drawings of the graphic (no Kinsmen logo in design) 6) To assist with manpower in anyway possible if requested c) Identify the city in the graphic as sponsor (75th birthday laga) d) Give special recognitian to the city for it's contribution at ceremonies with a presentation of Terry Fox Flag te the city for the new city hall. For seven years the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam has been very proud ta host the Terry Fox Hometown Rum. Every new run has been built upon the success of the previous run. Each year the Kinsmen are adding improvements and traditions that has made this community run the largest in the province last year. While the Hometawn continues to grow in participation however, new problems such as safety to runners, parking, traffic control, and site security continue to concern us. This year we will undertake major changes toe area at Hyde Creek ta address these concerns. The Kinsmen will be approaching the local RCMP. detachment ta ask for their support and active involvement with this year's run. Any additional support from the city in regard to encouraging support fram the ROMP ta the run would be mast appreciated. With the help of the city, local REMP, and dedicated volunteers, the Kinsmen feel this year's run will be the safest ever.
