July 28th, 1975 Prior to passage of the above resolution Alderman Traboulay enquired as to whether any thought had been given to the suggestion of placing portables on site for use in addition to the present library and was advised by Alderman Thompson that it had been looked into and it would be necessary to provide approximately six portable units in order to provide sufficient space and such was not feasible. Alderman Mabbett questioned the possibilty of Mr. Horner agreeing to a 'package deal' that would include the extras noted i.e. such as janitorial services, heat, air-conditioning etc. in one price of $6.49 per square foot. Mr. George Horner, of Horner Developments Ltd. was present at the meeting and advised that it was his pelicy in the past to lease facilities on a "net-net’ basis whereby each tenant was responsible for their own services, etc., however, he would be willing to at least discuss the matter further if Staff were instructed by Council to pursue the subject further. Director Rolley Lake in which the City Recreation Director, Miss Janna Taylor, at Rolley Lake was responsible for saving the life of a swimmer and advising Council of a letter he proposed to send to the Honourable Mr. Jack Radford, Minister of Recreation in Victoria.
