The Léger clan carry on the great tradition
of French-Canadian family bands, playing
the joyful kitchen party-style dance music
handed down from generation to generation
in Quebec and Acadian New _ Brunswick.
Patriarch Louis leads the band on the one-
row melodeon (a type of button accordion)
with son Devon on fiddle, his mom Barbara
on guitar and wife Dejah on piano. When this
family takes the stage, it’s an invitation for your
family to dance along!

La Famille Léger porte fierement les traditions
de la culture canadienne-frangaise jouant de la
musique acadienne et québécoise, rappelant
ainsi les joyeux partys de cuisine qui se sont
transmis de générations en générations. Le
patriarche Louis méne le groupe avec son
accordéon, son fils Devon au violon, sa mére
Barbara a la guitare et sa femme Dejah au
piano. Quand cette famille embarque sur
la scéne, c’est une invitation a tous de venir
danser, chanter et célébrer!

Frenchie has been entertaining kids of all ages for more than 20 years. He is delighted
to be back at the Festival du Bois. Born in Montreal, where he spent his childhood, Joey
Lespérance established himself in the theatre arts as a clown and balloon artist. Now hailing
from Vancouver, which he adores and where he has worked as a comedian since 1988, Joey
enthusiastically assumes his persona of Frenchie the Clown as
he performs daring stunts.

Depuis plus de 20 ans, Frenchie amuse
des enfants de tout age. Il est enchanté
d’étre de retour au Festival du Bois.
Né a Montréal ot il a passé son
enfance, Joey Lespérance s’est taillé
une belle réputation dans les arts de
la scéne, entre autres comme clown
et «sculpteur» de ballons. Désormais
établi a Vancouver, ville qu’il adore
et ou il exerce le métier de comédien
depuis 1988, Joey joue son personnage
de Frenchie le clown avec un grand
enthousiasme, tout en sé@ livrant a
d’audacieuses acrobaties.
