SUBJECT: COST SHARING OF ROAD PAVING - 2349 CENTRAL AVE. AND 2223
WELCHER AVE.
(Public Works Committee Meeting - February 8th, 1994)

RECOMMENDATION:

That Council approve the expenditure of $3.584.50 (including GST) towards the
reinstatement of the southem portion of the road pavement in front of 2349 Central
Avenue.

That Council approve the expenditure of $3,163.99 (including GST) towards the
reinstatement of the southem portion of the road pavement in front of 2223
Welcher Avenue.

That Council allocate $6,748.49 from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve
Fund for this purpose.

Two townhouse developments. one at 2349 Central and one at 2223 Welcher are required to

repave the street in front of the development a distance of half the roaaway plus a meter. Porter
Construction Ltd. has submitted a quote of $3,584.50 (including GST) to pave the remaining two
meter wide asphalt strip in front of 2349 Central Ave. and Jack Cewe Ltd. has submitted a quote
of $3.163.99 (including GST) to pave the remaining two meter wide asphalt strip in ‘front of
2223 Welcher Ave. Attached are quotes from Porter Construction Ltd. dated January 27, 1994
and Jack Cewe Ltd. dated February 1, 1994.

This work would include saw cutting, removing of existing asphalt. reconstructing the 3/4 inch

gravel base and paving with hot mix asphalt. ;
