RESOLUTION

SHORT TITLE - VOTING REGULATIONS - BILL 60 SPONSOR: CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS under Proposed Bijil 60 - Municipal Amendment Act, the weighted.
vote by population currently provided for in the Municipal Act will no
longer apply for any decisions made by Regional District Boards;

AND WHEREAS the proposed legislation was amended to exempt the Greater
Vancouver Regional District from the new voting regulations;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the U.B.C.M. make representation to the
Minister of Municipal Affairs to amend proposed Bill 60 - Muni cipal
Amendment Act to maintain the present regulations for voting for al]
