Works Committee Meeting January 12, 1988 Recommendation: That a request be forwarded to the District of Coquitlam Council to give consideration to the widening of the west side of Westwood north of the Westwood/Kingsway intersection to physically permit right turn movement whiie the northbound traffic is stopped at the intersection. Background and Comments: The attached letter from Mr. Jensen points out four traffic problems along Westwood Street as follows: | 1. Traffic congestion at the intersection of Westwood and Kitchener. 2+ Southbound traffic at the intersection of Westwood and Kingsway is prevented from turning right towards ‘. Lougheed Highway whenever a train blocks the intersection. | | 3. Problem with allowing left turn on Lougheed Highway at ane Westwood and entrance to Westwood Shopping Center. a 4. No left turn at Woodland for southbound traffic on _ Westwood. [tems 1 and 4 will be dealt with in the Traffic Study Report soon to be completed by the Department.
