V3J 3X2. Dear Sir: I refer to your Article in your November 27,1985, edition, under the caption "Muddy Water Angers PoCo." The Article is, of course, .qompletely misleading and libellous. Alderman Gates, is again engaging in defamatory statements regarding the Jack Cewe operations on Pipeline Road, no doubt with a view to retaining public support as "Defender of the Faith, and of Motherhood Issues." Alderman Gates objects to the heavy rains of November 2 - 3, 1985, which also happened tn wash away part of the Barnet Highway. He | would have us. treat the surplus run-off which cascades off the large mountain behind us into aqua pura before it reaches the river. Alderman Gates is mad at nature and wants us to clean up its act. He has tunnel vision which seems to focus solely on the Jack Cewe operations - never mind any other gravel pits, or streams or rivers which also run turbid as a result of severe rainstorms . Again, Alderman Gates public remarks are not only untrue, mislead- ing, inflamatory and malicious, but they are derogatory of the many Government Agencies who have all worked tegether so successfully in bringing these operations to thtezr present state of efficiency. I have cffered, on several.occasions, to meet with Alderman Gates or anyone else who wishes to acquaint himself with the true facts, but obviously he is noc interested in this as it would detract from his repértoire, ce cece cermin nee me he AER ROE IS AEM eae ee
