i | | ex COUN MAR 15 197 Mayor and Council March llth, 1976 Environmental Protection Committee The Environmental Protection Committee met with Mr. Jack Homes of the S.P.C.A, to discuss their 1976 Budget. A copy of the Budget submission is attached and Mr. Homes offered the following further explanation in connection with some of the items. Salaries ~ The Budget submission shows that salaries have been based on a 22% increase. In actual fact, the S.P.C.A. has settled with the Union fer a 12.3% increase. In spite of this settlement, the final estimate for salaries, taking into consideration the increases, increments, etc., can only be reduced by $2,000. to $75,000. This reduction has been offset by increases in auto insurance, telephone expenses, etc. Mr. Homes feels that the total Budget figure of $118,127. is therefore required in order to meet 1976 operations.
