Flying southern skiers sought SHAMES MOUNTAIN has enlisted Hawkair in its bid to attract skiers from the south. « The ski corporation now has:'a banner erected in the South Terminal of the Vancouver airport com- plex. --It?s the..terminal Haw- kair and a number of smal- ler airlines use instead of ‘the larger domestic build- ing. _ The idea, says Shames Mountain’s Betty Barton, is to tell as many people as possible about the good snow conditions on the mowntain and then to en- tice them up using Haw- kair. She describes the ban- ner as good marketing for Shames down south and good for Hawkair in terms of attracting passengers from down there. “With Hawkair here, the air travel price is so much better. It’s more feasible now,” she said, As well, Barton said Hawkair’s better record at landing in conditions which cause other airlines “to miss makes a trip here more predictable.
