THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM T.M. Chong, P, Eng., DATE: October 31, 1994 City Adiministrator FROM: LR. Zahynacz, P, Eng., FILE: 900-195 City Engineer SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONSULTING WORK - HARBOUR PUMP STATION RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT (Public Works Comunittee Meeting of October 18, 1994) That Council award the consulting engineering work for the design, tendering and construction supervision for the Harbour Pump Station project to Dayton & Knight Ltd, based on the tendered cost of $104,800 (including GST). That Council allocate $104,800 from the Drainage Development Cost Charge fund for this purpose. In 1992, the "South East Industrial Area Drainage Study" was completed, which identified the need for a major pump station to replace the existing smaller pump stations located at the dyke directly north of Argue Street. The catchment area for this pump station includes the Kebet Way, Coast Meridian Road and Broadway industrial areas. It is proposed to design the pump station and associated storm sewer upgrading in 1994/95 and to tender and construct the drainage works in 1996, The City invited proposals from three engineering consulting firms and proposals were received from two firms with the lowest bid from Dayton & Knight Ltd. at a cost of $104,800. Dayton & Knight has provided consulting engineering services for other projects in Port Coquitlam (including the Dominion Storm Pump Station project) and the quality of the work was very good. It is recommended that Council award the design, tendering and construction supervision services for the Harbour Pump Station Reconstruction project to Dayton & Knight Ltd. based on the tendered cost of $104,800 (including GST). | 2 eo .
