Carried. DELEGATIONS: Delegations: Residents Mr. Simon Lunt, 1287 Oriole Place, made a presentation to Council of Oriole Pl. on behalf of the residents on the north side of Oriole Place stating re walkway. that people are using the Nature Area behind private property and sometimes through the property, as a shorter route to George Pearkes School and the Hyde Creek Centre, and requesting that a pathway be established through the Nature Area away from the residents’ properties to allow people access through the Nature Area, or if the City's intent is not to have access through the area, that the area be closed off at both ends so people would not be passing through behind the residents' properties. Discussion then ensued. Alderman Traboulay stated in his opinion a pathway should be established away from the properties through the Nature Area. Aldermen Laking and Keryluk expressed their concern stating if the pathway was too isolated other problems could then exist. Alderman Ranger suggested the property owners put in a natural boundary using brambles and blackberry bushes as a deterrent to people crossing through their property if they did not want to build a fence. Alderman Ranger also stated that By-law No. 1433 governs the Nature Area and sets down very specific regulations. Alderman Mabbett stated his concerns «& with establishing isolated pathways. : t ; d j i
