The Fire further advised that the Department of Transport has no regulations whatsoever with respect to the type of insulation used in small pleasure~ type boats, and on the Department's suggestion, a letter has been written to the Consumers Affairs requesting that this matter be investigated, Alderman Keryluk advised that the new Fire Hali should be completed by ‘the end of the month, and although there are no specific plans as yet, an opening ceremony is planned. Alderman Ranger referred to Acting-Mayor Alderman Mabbett's previous observation that trucks are not using the City's designated truck route, and the City Administrator stated that upon being contacted by the Senior By-law Officer, the R.C.M.P. agreed to provide extra surveillance in that regard. Ranger~ motion re residential development / Lougheed Hwy. reconstruc~ tion-held in abeyance From the City Clerk, May 13th, 1976 advising that at the May 10th, 1976 Council meeting Alderman Ranger gave notice of a motion he planned to submit this evening regarding his intention to vote against any further requests for residential development this year that are located North of the Lougheed Highway and East of the Cuquitlam River as a protest of the Provincial Government's procrastination in carrying out the proposed reconstruction of the Lougheed Highway. Alderman Ranger stated that as two members of Council are absent and as the City is presently awaiting a statement from the Provincial Government on the possible re-allocation of funds for the proposed Lougheed Highway reconstruction, he wished to hold the motion in abeyance for two weeks, and to this members of Council generally agreed, eae ra ane
