Thompson & McDonnell, P.O. Box 100, Waite Rock, B.C. Attention: Mr. A.K. Thompson Dear Sir: ; ; One of our Aldermen recently suggested to us that we have a by-law prepared to accomplish tha following objects: x 1. To prevent damage to strect sipns, boulevard trees, etc. 2. Yo provide a reward for information received with respect £0 such damage. ‘ 3. To make parents accountable for minors actions in causing such damare, With respect to item number 1 above we believe that our Highways By-law No. 1118 adequately covers the situation and might we.sugzest that iten 2 could ba covered by a suitable clause in Section 11 thereof. Perhaps the present Section 11 could be made a Subsection with a reward clause to follow as a second Subsection and we would ask that you draft such a clause for us. Item 3 above is, wa believe, beyond the powers of the Comesi to control and we would appreciate your confirmation of this fact. We look forward to hearing from you in the next short while. Yours very truly, “Aw R.A. Freeman, City .Clerk,
