CORPORATION OF THE CITY PAIkES & Ol'GR'OQUITLAN RECREATION CONNITTEE meeting of the Parks Recreation Committee was held in the Council Chambers on Wednesdayi Seotember 3rd, 1986, at 3: 45 p.m. A & In attendance were Alderman George Laking and Alderman liike Farnworth. Also in atterdance were K. Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director; Simon Richards and Gary Dick from Cornerstone Archi- tects (Item No. 1 only). Item No. 1 Wilson Centre Exoansion Simon Richards went over the preliminary drawings for the various spaces. He also went over. the time table and the phasing program. It was also pointed out that an meeting had been held with the "Expansion Ci:.". ttee" of the Wilson Centre and that l.hey were extremely pleased with ear'er the prelim'nary drawings. It was agreed that to be spending $ 120,000 for these chanaerooms was excessive. Recommendation: That the verbal report be received. It was identified that the following charges Commercial Rate 549.25 per hour Basic Rate $ 32.95 per hour Nominal Rate 516.50 per hour Recommendation: That the United Transportation Union be charged the nominal charrie for the aymnasium. — — CARRIED Item No. 5 Elks Park Trees It was requested that we plant more t rees in the park where the trees were cut down. — Recommendation: That this request for additional trees be sent to the Parks Superintendent.
