SUBJECT: COAST MERIDIAN BARGE LOADING RAMP - PROJECT NO. 302

The above site was investigated on February 25, 1992 and photos taken to show the results of
tidal action and erosion caused by surface drainage. As can. be seen in photos #1 and #3 the
surface drainage has caused severe erosion of the steep side slopes. |

Placement of rip-rap on the slopes, from the end of the existing rip-rap adjacent to the concrete
walls, to the existing dyke, would support the existing fill and offer the necessary protection.

As stated in the letter from Associated Engineering a layer of quarry tailings, 300mm minus
should be placed on the side slope.

Associated Engineering has estimated that approximately 40m of material is required to cover
both surfaces to a depth of 300 mm. Their estimated cost is $2,000 for transportation and

To prevent further erosion in this area { would recommend that our forces proceed with the
placement of this material at our earliest convenience. 7 | |
