Coquitlam, B.C, V3C 2A8 — V3K LES Dear Sirs: RE: RAILWAY REQUEST TO REMOVE 1958 SLOW ORDER 5 APPROACH TO WESTWOOD ST., MILEAGE 112.80 CASCADE SUBD. (CPL) | On Dec. 5, 1991, Canadian Pacific made application to the Minister to remove an old 15 mph speed restriction on the east approach to the above-noted crossing, with copy provided to Mr. D.A. Fraser of McELhanney Engineering( copy attached). This speed restriction was placed in 1958 when the old passenger station was located between the crossing and the bridge and when trains stopped at the station and caused the gates to lower and block traffic on the roadway. When the crossing was widened last year as authorized by Order 1990-R-666 dated Nov. 16, 1990, the Railway installed modern constant warning time circuits and now wish to have this old 15 mph speed restriction removed so that the east approach will be the same as the west which has. been 40 mph since 1956. Pa Could you kindly advise if your municipality has any objections to this proposed increase in speed for westward trains approaching the crossing. RECE IVE D Aan Mann, P.Eng. FEB 12 1992 J.d.
