Steecteg 8 eka i P Genstar Development Company Mr. Kod. Smith, P.Eng. 1987 06 30 Page 3 Route C B.C. Hydro charges $29,000.00 Contractor civil works ; 20,000.00 ; Total ~ $49,000.00 Route A is the shortest and most direct route for power supply and therefore it is the lowest in cost. It has the disadvantage that it is - the route that impacts upon the greatest number of lots. The route is confined and the Contractor will have difficuity executing the work due to partially completed fences and the terrain. Route B has the advantage that it is the simplest from the construction point of view, It would impact only two existing lots and probably three future lots. The overhead line is however of a temporary nature with the final solution yet to be implemented. It has the disadvantage of being the greatest in cost and carries a premium of $12,000 over the lowest cost solution. Route C is the only route that follows existing roadway rights-of-way in its entirety. Construction would impact 8 lots. The installation would : require 3 crossings of newly completed roads and 5 concrete driveways. The construction has an element of danger in that the route would follow an energized high voltage line. This route carries a premium of $8,500 over Route A. Taking all factors into consideration we are of the opinion that the power supoly should be installed along Route A. This route pravides . a permanent solution that is the lowest in cost. While it is recognized that it will impact upon the existing homeowners in the short term, the peried of disruption will be relatively short. It is expected the Contractor will finish his work within a 3 week period. We request your consideration and decision in respect to this matter at the earliest possible date. It is probable that a delay in a decision | beyond July 2 will cause the power supply to be on the critical path and therefore control the date the pump station is placed inte operation.
