The Kinsmen Club, in its letter, requested that the City of Port Coquitlam proclaim the week of February 9th, 1976 through to February 16th, 1976 "National Heritage Week" and February 16th, 1976 as "National Heritage Day"; further, that permission be granted to place posters advertising , — the program on City property, such as the arenas and the Hyde Creek facility. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as requested in a recent letter from the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam, the week of February 9th to February 16th, 1976 is hereby proclaimed "National Heritage Week" and February 16th, 1976 "National Heritage Day" in the City of Port Coquitlam. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as requested in a recent letter from the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam, that organization be granted permission to place posters advertising "National Heritage Week" and "National Heritage Day" on City ‘ property such as the arenas and the Hyde Creek facility. Several representatives of the local Kinsmen Club were in attendance son Se EE tee eos and following passage of the foregoing two resolutions, they presented the City with two Canadian Flags, for which Mayor Campbell expressed the { City's appreciation. Alderman Thompson referred to his comments last week on free use of Ald.Thompson- free use of the arena for the forthcoming "Shmockey" game being sponsored by the arena, etc. R.C.M.P., and for events sponsored by other organizations, and Alderman Ranger advised that the Shmockey game has been cancelled because that R.C.M.P io could not find an opponent; however, the Committee is reviewing tie policy on free use of the City's Recreation facilities and will be reporting thereon to Council. Alderman Ranger inquired regarding the minutes of a joint meeting Ald.Ranger- joint Tri- held recently between the City of Port Coquitlam, City of Port Moady, Municipal meet -ing minutes and District of Coquitlam, and the City Administrator advised that they WS would be available shortly. Alderman Ranger advised that the Leisure Activities Committee would Ald. Ranger- meeting re be meeting tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. to consider recommendations on the recommenda~ tions-Nature Nature Area made by the Sub-Committee of ti2 Recreation Council and Area others and he stated that any members of the public who wished to do so were welcome ta attend.
