ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Hinutes of the rege Gmnaral evs of the dulsemel Guild of B.C. bald at 1359 The meeting was called to order at 8 pe. by Tam Irving, President and Chair, with approximately thirty members in attendance. Moved by Anna Sjarmason and seconded by D’arcy Margesson that the Minutes cf the AGM held on January 25th, 1992 be adopted as read. Passed. Matters arising from the 1992 AGM Minutes: It was noted that the interest in a joint CCM! Potters’ Guild exhibition in 1993 expressed at that seating by Tarry Lewis, represanting the Canadian Craft Museum, was about to bacone 4 reality in May with the opening of “Jugs: Pitchers, Dippers and Metaphors". President's Report: Tam presented information further to bis Annual Report, attached to Agenda amd which had also been reproduced in the Jamuary and February newsletters, specifically: (a) the amaigamation of the Gallery and Marketing committees, with Karstl Krug and Predi Rahn co-chalring the revised Gallery committee, partly In recognition of the need to increase the marketing of the Gallery itself; (b) discussions presently underway about holding an annual sale which would ba open to the entire pembership, to help re-establish contact between peabers, and with fund-raising purpose as well, with the Oregon Potters’ Association's annual May sale as a successful example to investigate; ic) the strong response to the call for entries in the juried "Jugs" exhibition, with 65 applications, a few being from as far away as Saskatchewan amd Alberta, John Chalke from Calgary will be juror, and although there are no prizes, it is hoped that funds will be found to permit the production of a small catalogue; and {d) the reasons for seeking charitable status were reviewed. Still waiting to hear From Revenue Canada regarding the application for charitable status; in the maantige, Caro] Mayer had called a meeting of tha potential board of the Caramic Foundation. Treasurer’s Report: with 1992 Financial Statements in hand, the Treasurer, Kerst! Krug, noted that Gallery sales had dropped significantly in 1992 (by approx. 12 t), with Guild and Gallery expenditures dropping at a lesser rate. The Finance and Gallery committees will be looking to increase Gallary sales in the coming year, and will continue to keep a close eye on expenditures as well as income. Jam Kidnie added several comments, pointing out that although December “92 sales were up by # ¢ over December 91, the remaining term deposits should oot be used, and are in any case insufficient, to help cash flows through the first half of 1993, a5 they did in 1992. — far- ia Pops fy FT. yo
