A10 - The Terrace Standard, Wednesday, September 24, 2003- ‘TERRACE STANDARD Out & About Tour group hits region MORE THAN one dozen tourism industry represen- tatives are enjoying a whirlwind familiarization tour of Prince Rupert, Ter- race and Smithers this week, Hawkair Aviation marketing manager Darryl Tucker says. The three day itinerary includes a winter feast al the Museum of Northern B.C., a nature walk in an old growth forest, a river boat ride, and a train trip to Smithers, Tucker says. Inbound travel opera- tors, airlines and travel trade media were invited to attend the trip, orga- nized by Hawkair and local tourism operators. The purpose is to intro- duce Hawkair’s new as- sociates to some of the at- tractions in the three com- munities the airline serves. Participants include Alaska Airlines, GSA Tra- vel Magazine, Royal Sce- nic Holidays, and Pacific Star Tours. The trip. also included meet and greet sessions with business representa- tives and travel agents. Guests were flown to Prince Rupert yesterday, where they were taken on a tour of the harbour, the Atlin terminal facilities, Cow Bay, the museum, and the city, spending the night at the Crest Hotel.
