Mr. and Mrs. Hoppe were visiting old friends here last month. home as well. The reason for his move to "Terrace was simple: he had heard that big fish were being caught here. Soon, both Anna and Charles became friends —- and the rest in history. A year later, Nov. 18, 1961, Charles and Anna married at the Evangelical Free Church by Rev. Abe Rempel. Standing in for them at their wedding was bestman, John Giesbrecht, Marge Magdanz, the little flower girl was the Reverend’s daughter, and friends Vic and Eleanor Froese. Their receplion was held in the church basement with about 200 people in at- tendance. Their wedding cake was made by their good friends Fred and Laverne Hislop. Everyone thought their wedding should be a big celebration, because it was the first real Christian wed- ding held in the church. Anna said after they were married they lived ina small shack on Walsh Avenue un- til they built their own home at 4807 Walsh. They lived in this home until they moved to Salmon ‘Arm in 1980. While living here, Charles worked for Columbia Cell for 19 years until he retired. It’s always nice to have old Terrace residents return home to visit their friends. Terrace certainly finds a spot in everyone’s hearts as do old friends. Good health to both Charles and Anna Hoppe and also to Nel Dejong.
