Local reps to NAG meeting — ‘Two local women :will represent the Terrace ’ Women’s Organization at the annual meeting of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women held in Ottawa this weekend. Lorna Romilly and Alice Chen-Wing will attend the meeting which ~ begins Friday, March 17,° when Politics and a workshop on rape, wife battering, por- nography and violence against women and children, A banquet, a workshop on lobbying and displays from women's groups across Canada will all be part of the program. At the annual meeting on March 19, the election of officers for 1978-79 will take place and reports on NAC activities for the past year will be given. Monday will be the scene of a parliamentary lobby of Members of Parliament. Members of the NAC will meet with the caucusses of the four major political parties and will lobby on issues of concern to Women. The. National Action Committee on the Status of Women is. an umbrella organization .of more than 100 women’s groups -in Canada.
