If pursuant to this Memorandum of Understanding the
Forest Sarvice assumes responsibility of the suppression
action for a forest fire, the Forest Service in its sole
discretion may require the City of Port Coquitiam to:

(a) provide assistance in the suppression action for
the forest fire;

{o) maintain a liaison officer at the site of the
foreat fire.

Xf pursuant to this Memorandum of Understanding the
Sorest Service assumes responsibility of the suppression
action for a forest fire, the Forest Service may
withdraw its foreat fire suppression expertise and
resources and return the entire responsibllity of the
auppression action for the forest fire to the City of
Port Coquitlam when the Forest Service in it sole
discretion determines that: .

(a) the forest fire is under control; or

(b) its forest fire suppression expertise and resources
are needed slisewhere.

If pursuant to Section 4.02 the Forest Service returns
the entire responsibility of the suppression action for
the forest fire to the City ef Port Coquitiam,

the Forest Service will:

(a) maintain a liaison officer at the site of the
foreat fire; and |

(ep) by notice in writing to the City of Port Coquitiam
wet out its recommendations for extinguishing,
patrolling and safeguarding the forest fire.

Neither party shall be liable to indemnify the other for
any loss, damage, personal injury or death oceurring as.
a result of the performance of this Memorandum of
Understanding,
