BACKGROUND ¢

On June 15, 1992 the Municipal Council approved a recommendation that Land
Use Contract No. 24, affecting the property at 2986 Coast Meridian Road be
amended an that the fees be waived.

The above recommendation was the result of Council considering a 1984
Application to amend Land Use Contract No. 24, which, due to a number of
reasons, was never implemented.

The amendments proposed in 1984 were similar to the amendments recommended
in this report.

DISCUSSION:

The Meridian Gardens development is a fairly attractive bare land strata
subdivision with small units. The development ia very well maintained and has
sufficient land around the buildings to permit some expansion of the units
without affecting the overall appearance of the complex «

Subject to some design control, the proposed building and patio additions

should not detract from the overall appearance of the complex and will allow
the residents to make their own particular units an Little more comfortable.
