Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Gates: WHEREAS Bylaw Nos. 1214, 128] and 1393, being Nature Area Dedication Bylaws and the "Nature Area Regulation Bylaw, 1976, No, 1433" establish and regulate the Nature Area in the City; AND WHEREAS the said Bylaws provide that the said Nature Area shal | be maintained in its natura] state insofar as it is possible so to do and except tor the Purpose of advancing its use as a Nature Area no development work of any kind whatsoever sha! | take place therein; AND WHEREAS an al legation that certain trees in the Nature Area are gerous has been received and i as had J.S, Peepre & epare a Tree in this report, dated May, » certain trees are j ifi being hazardous and a recommendation is therein made that these trees should be removed; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Port Coquitlam Parks Department, by its employees, agents, or servants, be authorized to remove the approximately 30 trees identified in the report as being hazardous and to top approximately 14 trees in an effort to reduce any hazard that may be posed by these trees; AND THAT the cost thereof, estimated to be $2,000 be taken from the $90,000 unal located capital works money. THAT the residents in the area be notified by letter about the tree cutting that will be taking place.
