no evidence at this time that the city has made any was-

has the RCMP in place. The city has worked hard and
diligently to find an equitable solution ta policing costs

Dear Sir:

Jean Chretien's Liberal third consecutive majority in
the Central and Atlantic provinces is a Pyrric victory
that does not embody the whole nation. It was won by
the Grits’ electoral dissemination of acute fear and
loathing, character assassination, innuendoes of hidden
agendas, racist intonations and extremism directed at
their foes, the Canadian Alliance.

The people deemed this insult to be repugnant, apa-
thetically only 62 per cent turned out to vote for which
the Liberals who preyed incessantly on citizens’ fears of
alleged unknowns, captured but 42 per cent of the over-
all popular vote.

Issues, policies, program directions and principles
were jettisoned during this value void non-election Deci-
sion 2000 in favour of re-installing an ossified decrepit
Liberal government who will welcome us into a New
Year's fractious partisan parliament overseeing a four-

failed to make inroads into Eastern Canada because
Stockwell Day was portrayed not to be a maderate.

These perceptions were media cultured by a seasoned
veteran cadre of Liberal MP's and backroom pitbulls
who parade in machine ordered marching marion-
ette synchronization to the ambitions of one Jean
Chretien. It’s highly doubtful that any western leader of a
national party, including the current Official Opposition
can ever be embraced by Easterners, but perhaps a fisc-
ally accountable and more socially open minded pro-
spective leader for the Canadian Alliance like the bright
and talented Juan de Fuca MP, Dr. Keith Martin, could
articulate a resonant vision and capture greater main-
Stream support from Canadians.

Placements for children are needed for 2 to 5 days per month.

Short-Term Care, anywhere from a few weeks to several months, provides
children with a safe environment until they can be reunited with their
families.

Long-Term Care, placements are for children who cannot return to their
families and need a family until they grow up.

Specialized Care Providers, with the assistance of a team of
professionals, provide care for youth with serious emotional or behaviour
challenges. .

Children needing foster care may be any age, from newborn to 18 years
old, some are brothers and sisters who need to stay together, others have
special needs.

Foster parents may be young or old, single, married or common-law, they
